What is neurosurgery?

September 16, 2018 · ·

There’s a common misconception that neurosurgery is all awake brain surgery and deep brain stimulation. This is a simple video to explain some of the different types of neurosurgery that we do. The terminology is all United Kingdom terminology.

The main types are:

  • Degenerative spine
  • Complex spine
  • Functional
  • Paediatric
  • Trauma
  • Vascular
  • Hydrocephalus
  • Neuro-oncology
  • Skullbase

If you’ve got questions about any of these then ask in the comments section or on Twitter (@realbrainbook)
