Are you interested in working with like-minded individuals to spread your passion about neurosurgery? Would you like to be a part of the first neurosurgical charity dedicated to education, science communication and public engagement?

If so, we are recruiting ambassadors from each medical school globally to join our team.

The role of the University Ambassador is to raise awareness of the Brainbook charity and its resources. The principal focus has been on promoting Brainbook’s educational resources within their respective Universities and over social media.

Our programme allows ambassadors to work and network with like-minded individuals,  become involved with projects and opportunities to develop their interest in neurosurgery/ neurosciences and represent medical students interested in neurosurgery at their University. For all ambassadors, we provide a certificate of appreciation for their portfolio.

The ambassadors are expected to promote Brainbook’s content within their University through liaising with the University surgical/ neurological societies or educational teams to highlight the resources to the student body. The ambassadors are also encouraged to promote content over social media to engage a wider audience.

Time commitment varies and relates to the Brainbook content at that specific time. During University term time, ambassadors should spend on average an hour a week promoting the educational content within University and on social media.

There are at present over 70 ambassadors world-wide. The application form involves a current CV along with a 500 word personal statement detailing the reason why the candidate is suited towards the role.

Ambassadors should have a keen interest in neurosurgery/ neurosciences, they should be enthusiastic and dedicated, able to work as part of an expanding team, creative and willing to take on opportunities. Ambassadors represent the charity so it’s important they are passionate about Brainbook and its goals.

All applications are read by the ambassador lead team and discussed. Applicants should show a keen interest in neurosurgery/ neurosciences, an understanding of what Brainbook is and its mission and should convey relevant experience and skills suited to the role.
