Contusion – traumatic brain injury explained

November 28, 2020 · Alex Alamri · Leave a Comment

A brain contusion is a bruise of the brain’s surface which damages the brain tissue. A contusion can lead to all sorts of symptoms and have various different ways of being treated. In this video we cover what a contusion is, how it’s diagnosed, some treatment options and what to expect during recovery.

This video is a collaboration with the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Neurotrauma (https://neurotrauma.world/). Their overarching mission is to improve global neurotrauma care through a series of projects and activities focussing on various aspects of traumatic brain injury (TBI) care in low and middle income countries (LMICs).
